LUMBER LIQUIDATORS UPDATE

So here at Carpet Concepts, we’ve been following the case of Lumber Liquidators pretty carefully, as we’ve had some customers affected by the situation.

Briefly, Lumber Liquidators sold wood laminate flooring from china that was found to have a high level of formaldehyde. CBS’s 60 Minutes did an investigation, lawsuits were filed, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says people exposed to the flooring have a higher risk of cancer as well as red and irritated eyes, and exacerbation of asthma and other respiratory disease.

We must make it clear that Lumber Liquidators has stopped selling the China-made laminate flooring in question.

It doesn’t seem to affect other products from China, but we are selling American made products and avoiding Chinese products and have been doing so for quite a while. American, Canadian and European products are more carefully regulated.
