Solid Wood Flooring
Solid Wood floors add beauty and warmth to your home or business. Solid hardwood flooring will last a lifetime if installation is done correctly. At Carpet Concepts, we do in-home testing on sub floor moisture content and air humidity to make sure your solid wood floor is appropriate for the space, and is installed properly so it lasts years.
Solid Wood Floors
Solid wood floors are one solid piece of wood and are generally 3/4″ thick. Our solid hardwood floors are produced from the finest domestic and exotic hardwoods including red & white oak, American cherry, hickory, maple, and Brazilian cherry, and are available in several widths.
Solid hardwood floors are 100% wood and can be sanded and refinished over the years if needed. Solid wood does have its drawbacks. Solid hardwood flooring can only be installed above grade, and not directly onto a concrete slab, because of the expansion and contraction associated with moisture and humidity. High humidity can cause your solid wood floors to buckle and warp. If you’re thinking about wood floors for your basement or kitchen, you might want to consider engineered hardwood floors.
Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will work closely with you to find the solid wood product that matches your tastes and budget. We carry and install solid wood flooring products from Mohawk, Mannington, Shaw and Lauzon. All of our installers are factory certified, and we stand by our work, offering a lifetime labor warranty.
